About Me

 

Hello, all! My name is Lisa Barbee, also known as Chef LisaB. I was born and raised in Detroit, MI, And  I Currently Reside in Austin, TX. Born into a family of great cooks, it was almost my destiny to follow suit. As a young child, cooking was always my favorite pastime. After spending five years as a patient care technician, I realized the culinary world was my true love.

 

After reading countless books, taking online courses, and watching tons of videos, I started out by delivering lunches & dinners to the employees at plants like Ford Motor Company, General Motors, and Chrysler Fiat. From there, I began making infused desserts as a caterer and eventually got into restaurants professionally. My very first restaurant role was in an Italian bar & grille where I started as a prep cook. Over the years, I’ve moved between restaurants, country clubs, and hotels, working my way up the ranks and gaining as much knowledge as possible.

 

After eight years of restaurant work, I decided it was time to take my talents in a different direction and find a place where I could connect with people on a more personal level. In 2016, I decided to enroll in the American Personal & Private Chef Association to further my skill set.

 

I noticed that, with their fast-paced lifestyles, families, couples & singles weren’t actually sitting down at home anymore over good food and meaningful conversations. I want to bring that back. I want to be the driving force that bridges that gap. Let me take the stress out of meal planning, grocery shopping, and meal preparation and ensure that the clean-up is taken care of, too. You can have your personal time back. I am here for you. I look forward to bringing good food and conversations back to your dinner table.
